Balancing is similar to rules of third. but a composition is called balanced when the photographer has is concentration on one thing which will be the main in the photo. So there is one big thing or the main subject and then a small thing behind.
About the picture: this is an example of balancing I've put my phone behind the cup so that i may obtain a balanced picture.
Aperture: f/4
Shutter speed: 1/500
ISO: ISO-800
Location: Oldham College
Equipments: Camera, phone, cup
Aperture: f/4
Shutter speed:
ISO: ISO-800
This is a bad example of balancing. to improve this picture I should have push the bus pass to the left side so that there be a space between the cut and the bus pass.
Location: Oldham college
Equipment: camera, cup, bus pass
Contrast
A composition is called contrast when there is one different colour among things that have same colours. For Example: one red apple among 20 green apples.
To obtain this picture i looked for a place where i could find a yellow or white flour on grass.
Contrast is one of the easier composition to make up or create. the main thing in this picture or my target was the yellow flour, which is even the thing that makes the beauty of the image.
Aperture: f/8
Shutter speed: 1/60
ISO: ISO-200
Location: Oldham College
Equipement: Camera
But here you see the opposite of what I said to define contrast. instead of having one colour, here we have lots of defferent colors but it is still contrast because the white and the yellow in it dominate all the rest.
this picture was taken by one of my class mate, WILL
Aperture: f/8
Shutter speed: 1/250 sec
ISO: ISO-200
Location: Oldham College
Equipements: Camera, flours
Aperture: f/5.6
Shutter Speed: 1/125
ISO: ISO-200
Equipement: Camera
Location: Oldham College
This is a bad example of contrast, it is bad firstly the position of the can is bad and also the way I controlled the ISO, Aperture and the Shutter speed wasn't good. to improve this picture i should have placed the the can which is the main object in between the grass and then open the Apeture abit more so that the image shouldn't be blurry.
Aperture: f/5.3
Shutter Speed:1/60 sec
ISO:ISO-400
Location: Oldham College
Equipement: Camera, Can
Here is the same picture, but i have changed the position of the can i open the aperture up to f/5.3, shutter speed up to 1/125 and the ISO 600
